Another version of my “Crane” tobacco pipe, which was inspired by the crane bird.

To me, this form has also been a kind of exercise in geometry and balance, as -despite its asymmetrical shape and very narrow “base”- it manages to stand, reminiscent of the crane standing on one foot.

The stummel is made of Greek briar in vintage mahogany shade, and the bocote shank extension makes an interesting “bridge” to the earthy green ebonite stem.
